Unsung Hero: Krystal Palmer

Meet Krystal!

In her role as perioperative Registered Nurse at MRH, Krystal Palmer supports patients and their families before and after surgeries and procedures.

“I treat everyone I encounter each day as family,” she said. “I believe in making people feel supported and heard, no matter how small their concern.”

A Craig native, Crystal went into nursing because she wanted to work at her hometown hospital and care for the people in her community. She also knew it was a broad field with lots of opportunities. She’s been with MRH for 11 years.

Krystal understands that surgical procedures can be difficult for patients. “The thing I love most about my job is I have the privilege of helping people through a very emotional and scary time,” she said. “I get to make sure they feel cared for and advocate for their safety.”

The second thing Krystal loves most about her job is her coworkers. “I have the best coworkers in the entire world,” she said. “They are team players, kind, caring, hardworking, and so many more things. I know that they will always have my back no matter what. We are one big family.”

And Krystal’s coworkers love her back. “Krystal serves as a resource to many of her coworkers,” said the colleague who nominated her as Unsung Hero. “She is always familiar with the current practices of our department and offers guidance as needed. She always does what is right for her patients and is always a friendly face in the department.”

Outside of work, you’ll find Krystal spending time with her husband and four kids. They enjoy camping, four-wheeling, snowmobiling, hunting, and going to the movies.

The MRH Way emphasizes meeting people with warmth and respect. Krystal, you embody this quality so beautifully. We’re fortunate to have you on our perioperative team. Your coworkers value you as much as you value them. Thank you for your remarkable empathy and dedication to excellence.
