Meet Angi!  

If you walk into MRH Rapid Care for an urgent medical need, you might meet Angi Hinkle. She checks in patients who come to our walk-in clinic for common health issues like a respiratory illness, a cut, or a sprain. Behind the scenes, she also helps coordinate the care delivered by the providers and nurses.

“I always try to approach the patient with a smile and empathy,” Angi said. “You never know what the patient is  being seen for, and lots of times they are anxious or in pain. I just try to put myself in their shoes and meet them with calmness and kindness.”

Angi, who worked for three decades in hardware/lumber retail before joining MRH, has been part of the MRH team for seven years. She applied for the job because as a medical-clinic patient herself over the years, she always noticed and admired the front-desk receptionist. “I thought that it would be such a neat position to be in,” she said. “So I applied, and here I am.”

Angi loves the variety and satisfaction her job presents. “I never know who or what is going to come through the door at any given moment,” she said. “As the first and last person the patient sees, I like that they can leave in a better position than when they got here.”

“Angi is the definition of resilience,” said the colleague who nominated her as Unsung Hero. “Despite facing personal challenges, she shows up each day with a positive attitude and a smile. She takes great pride in her work, and her care and dedication shine through in everything she does.”

Outside of work, Angi’s favorite activity is spending time with her family. “My two granddaughters are the apple of my eye,” she said. “I love going to sporting events and concerts. I also love traveling to new destinations. My boyfriend and I try to take a couple vacations a year.”

Something not everyone knows about Angi is that she is a contributing author to six books that all made the Amazon Best Seller list when they came out.
