Unsung Hero: Shauna Klimper
Sterile Processing Technician
Meet Shauna!
Shauna Klimper’s dedication, positivity, and unwavering commitment to her colleagues and patients make her an Unsung Hero. While her role as a Sterile Processing Technician in the Surgical Services department at MRH is crucial, her influence extends beyond her job responsibilities.
Shauna’s journey at MRH is a testament to her resilience and commitment to excellence. Having arrived in Craig nearly five decades ago, Shauna’s roots in the community run deep. She vividly recalls her early years living in an old haunted yellow house and working at McDonald’s where she learned the value of hard work. It was there that her boss instilled in her a vital lesson: there is always something that needs cleaning. Little did she know, this simple mantra would guide her throughout her career.
In 2017, Shauna embarked on a new chapter of her professional life at MRH, starting in the dietary department. Her dedication and work ethic quickly caught the attention of her colleagues and supervisors, leading to her transition to Surgical Services in Sterile Processing. Shauna’s joy and gratitude at being chosen for this role were palpable, reflecting her lifelong experience in housekeeping and janitorial positions. Shauna’s humility shines through as she acknowledges the support and encouragement she has received from her colleagues in Dietary, “Shout out to dietary, you are my people, and I am here because you took a chance on me.”
Beyond her duties, Shauna’s presence at MRH radiates positivity and warmth. Her colleagues admire her for always going the extra mile to assist others, regardless of the task at hand. One colleague notes, “Shauna is always going out of her way to help others and help anywhere that it is needed. She comes to work with a positive attitude and is committed to the success of the Surgical Services department and MRH.”
For Shauna, MRH is more than just a workplace; it’s a second home filled with familiar faces from her school days. The camaraderie she shares with her colleagues creates a supportive environment like having a family away from home. This is enriched by Shauna’s approach to life guided by two simple yet profound rules: never burn bridges and strive to be a better person with each passing day.
As Shauna continues to brighten the lives of those around her, MRH shines ever brighter. Thank you for being our Unsung Hero – Shauna!
