Unsung Hero: Sadye Smercina

Meet Sadye!

As a Registered Nurse at the MRH Rapid Care Clinic, Sadye assesses and helps treat patients with non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries. She takes vital signs, runs point-of-care tests (such as rapid strep and urinalysis), draws labs, assists providers with procedures, gives medications, and works with the providers to deliver fast and efficient care in a walk-in setting.

“Every day is unpredictable,” she said. “What I love the most about being a nurse at Rapid Care is the variety of patients we see. You never know what is coming through the door next, and that keeps work interesting. No two days are the same.”

The colleague who nominated Sadye as Unsung Hero said, “Her support to ensure her new team members succeed has been amazing.”

Sadye, who is a Craig native, knew she wanted to be a nurse from the time she was little. “Even as a child, I was drawn to helping others and found fulfillment in caring for people,” she said. “I’ve always admired the compassion, strength, and skill that nurses bring to their work, and I knew I wanted to be part of a profession where I could make a real difference in people’s lives every day.”

Sadye has been a nurse for six years. She’s been with MRH for about a year and a half, and prior to that, was a travel nurse and worked at PMC in Meeker. When she’s not working, she loves spending time with her spouse and their two-year-old son. Together the family enjoys outdoor
activities such as camping and hunting.

Your passion for what you do shines through, Sadye. We love it when Craig natives find their forever healthcare careers right here at MRH, and we want to thank you for providing such exceptional care to your community.
