Unsung Hero: Jessica Vandenhout
Meet Jessica!
For patients, the experience of receiving good healthcare involves many touchpoints. Jessica Vandenhout, who’s part of the Memorial Regional Health Scheduling team, is one of the first stops along the way.
“I do a bit of everything,” Jessica said, “from answering phones, scheduling appointments, helping check patients in at our Specialty Clinic, coordinating referrals for our Behavioral Health providers and Dietitian…and more!”
It’s a busy role Jessica relishes. “I enjoy helping people!” she said. “Even on their worst days, when they’re not feeling well.”
Jessica is one of this month’s Unsung Heroes because she tackles her job with enthusiasm and care. “Jessica demonstrates our C.H.O.I.C.E values in her daily work,” said a coworker. “Among these values, her embodiment of Ownership stands out remarkably. She approaches her responsibilities with a proactive mindset, never adopting a ‘not my job’ attitude. Instead, Jessica readily steps in to address any needs she identifies, reflecting her strong commitment to our team and its success.”
Jessica has been with MRH for more than 12 years. Before joining the MRH team, she worked at the Craig Daily Press. At MRH, she has especially loved working with the Pediatric Clinic, where she assists with schedules and paperwork.
A Colorado native, Jessica has two sons, ages 15 and 11, who keep her on her toes. “I’m newly married to a wonderful man,” she said, “and I cannot wait to see what our future has in store for us. We have an amazing family between the two of us, including three fur babies. Lots of laughs, attitude, and dog hair under one roof!”
When she’s not working, Jessica likes reading, spending time with family, camping, and four-wheeling.
Jessica, we thank you for your compassionate, humble commitment to integrity and excellence. You help make MRH run smoothly and ensure exceptional patient care!
