Craig, Colorado – March 24, 2022

The Memorial Regional Health Board of Trustees announced today its decision to offer Jennifer Riley the position of Chief Executive Officer of Memorial Regional Health. Riley has served on the Executive Team for the past eleven years. Prior to being named the Interim CEO in October of 2021, she was the Chief Operating Officer. Riley became the Interim CEO when Andy Daniels submitted his letter of resignation.

Kelly Hepworth, MRH Board of Trustees Chairman said, “The Board has been watching Jennifer perform since Andy left in October. The Board has found Jennifer to be effective and performed her duties very well, we believe she has done a great job. Many of us have also had the opportunity to watch Jennifer as the Chief Operating Officer and President of Community Clinics at MRH for many years. Jennifer is conscientious and performs her duties very well.

Initially, the board voted to proceed with a national search but after observing Jennifer we decided to explore the opportunity of offering her the permanent CEO position. During the February Board of Trustees meeting the Board received a strong endorsement from an independent third-party, the Gallagher Group, which included a leadership assessment. The Board made the decision to follow the endorsement and offer Jennifer the permanent CEO position. The Board believesthat Jennifer’s leadership will guide the hospital and clinics to continued success and provide the quality of healthcare that the community needs.”

The seven person Board voted with six members in favor and one member abstaining to engage Jennifer Riley as the next permanent CEO of MRH.

“I am deeply honored that the Board has chosen me to be the next leader of Memorial Regional Health. Successful leadership is not possible without a supportive team, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the team I work with every day. We work with dedicated and caring people who believe in our stated mission and vision to become a 4-star hospital. While I have the support of many community members, I understand that my role requires an openness to listen to the entire community and its constructive recommendations to enhance the care and services provided here. I will continue to welcome your feedback as I am determined to do my best to make sure MRH is the best place to receive care and to work,” said Riley.

Riley holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from the University of Wyoming and a Master of Health Administration from Ohio University. Prior to joining Memorial Regional Health she worked for Moffat County in the Assessor’s office from 2003-2010. She served on the Craig City Council from 2009-2012 and on the CNCC Board of Control from 2013-2016, and the Moffat County Library Board from 2007-2019.
