Meet Yudit!

Yudit Escarcega is an indispensable member of the Memorial Regional Health (MRH) team, where she does an amazing job ensuring a clean and safe environment for all. Her dedication to disinfecting and cleaning beds, doors, bathrooms, floors (and more!) throughout the facility makes her a true Unsung Hero.

Every day, Yudit brings a smile to work, embodying friendliness and professionalism. A colleague summed up her impact wonderfully: “She comes in every day with a smile on her face, is very friendly and professional to staff, deep cleans our department, and is always looking for ways to help. She is committed and takes pride in her job daily and does an amazing job—scrubs places I have never watched others clean before.”

Yudit’s passion for cleanliness is evident in everything she does. Before joining MRH a year and a half ago, she worked at a butcher shop, but her love for keeping spaces spotless led her to this essential role in healthcare. Every day, she takes pride in knowing that her efforts help maintain the health and safety of both patients and staff, ensuring that critical areas like emergency rooms, hallways, and bathrooms are immaculately clean.

One of Yudit’s favorite parts of her job is the satisfaction of seeing a job well done. She knows that by thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting key areas, she contributes to a safer environment for everyone at the hospital.

A memorable moment during her time at MRH was when a nurse named José offered her a chocolate as a gesture of appreciation during a small misunderstanding. This act of kindness made Yudit feel valued and appreciated, highlighting the supportive atmosphere at MRH.

Yudit has lived in Craig for the past eight years, working hard to create a better life for her 7-year-old son, who is always by her side. Outside of her work at MRH, Yudit spends her Sundays selling food and her Saturdays volunteering to clean the homes of people with disabilities, reflecting her generous and compassionate nature.

Few people might know that Yudit is working toward the dream of buying a home for herself and her son—a goal she is determined to achieve through hard work and dedication. She is very grateful to her supervisors, Clint and Kendra, for giving her the opportunity to work at MRH despite language barriers. Yudit’s happiness and gratitude shine through in everything she does, making her an invaluable part of the MRH team.
