Unsung Hero: Karra Juergens

Workers’ Compensation Coordinator

Meet Karra!

Meet Karra Juergens, our Unsung Hero and Workers’ Compensation Coordinator! After realizing what a complex process Workers’ Compensation can be, MRH felt the need for a go-to person who could assist patients and staff in navigating this difficult and overwhelming process. Previously outsourced, MRH set up an in-house clinic with Karra as the dedicated point of contact.

“I love being able to help guide a patient through this confusing process of the W/C world. When they walk in my office in tears and then walk out feeling a little more in control it makes it all worth it.”

As the Workers’ Compensation Coordinator for all MRH, Karra ensures a smooth journey for W/C patients and staff throughout the entire process. Karra takes care of all Workers’ Compensation authorizations and acts as a helpful bridge between the patient, clinic/hospital, and W/C carrier. Karra can be counted on to answer questions and ensure that W/C carriers receive all the necessary information after each patient visit.

One of Karra’s favorite moments here at MRH is when she worked with a patient who had a severe injury that required monthly appointments. They came to Karra, three years and two surgeries later, and thanked her for all the help she had given them. They felt that they wouldn’t have made it through without her help, direction, and keeping them in the loop with the provider and W/C carrier.

Outside of work, Karra enjoys spending time with her family. Karra and her husband were high school sweethearts and have been married for 32 years! They started their family in Anchorage, Alaska and lived there for 4 years before returning to Colorado where Karra grew up.

Their two boys are now grown and are both Electrical Lineman. As empty nesters things have changed quite a bit for Karra and her husband going from spending weekends following their boys to sporting events to now trying to figure out what to do with their time. Their most recent joy has been becoming grandparents!

Karra is also a dedicated member of Women for Moffat County which is a nonprofit organization of charitable local women that provide grants each year for the improvement of Moffat County.

Thank you for all that you do for MRH and our community as a whole Karra, we appreciate you!
