Choose MRH For Your Orthopedic, Total Joint & Spine Care

We’re here for all of your orthopedic needs. At Memorial Regional Health, it’s our goal to help you regain the active lifestyle you desire by providing the most advanced methods in total joint surgery, sports medicine and orthopedic care available today.

Our partnership with the Steamboat Orthopaedic and Spine Institute allows us to provide comprehensive sports medicine and orthopedic services to northwestern Colorado and eastern Wyoming, including diagnosis and state-of-the-art treatment of any injury or chronic condition of the musculoskeletal system, with sub-specialty expertise in the areas of hand/wrist, elbow, shoulder, hip, knee, total joint replacement, foot/ankle, and operative and non-operative spine.

We work with the MRH Physical Therapy team on offering non-operative joint pain relief methods first for our patients.

About Our Specialized Ortho Services

Our orthopedics and bone health specialist helps patients assess, treat and monitor bone health issues such as osteoporosis.

MRH also offers a sophisticated DEXA scanner to make bone imaging convenient for the Craig-area community. DEXA stands for dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry. It’s a quick, painless x-ray that measures the density of your bones. The denser your bones, the stronger they are. The less dense your bones, the more likely they are to break or begin to crumble as you age. Read more here.

Upper extremity functioning is necessary for individuals in our community with active lifestyles. Wrist and hand fractures, carpal tunnel syndrome, thumb arthritis, trigger finger and lumps and bumps of the hands and wrists can be treated in Craig. Surgery and non-operative treatments are available.

Knee and hip joint replacements are the most common operations performed by SOSI surgeons. Most joint replacements are caused by previous injuries and surgeries as well as degeneration of a joint over time. The goal is to alleviate any pain the patient is feeling as much as possible.

Shoulder injuries can vary from clavicle fractures and shoulder dislocations to rotator cuff and arthritic issues. Non-operative treatments, as well as surgery, are available locally for patients experiencing pain in these areas.

The entire MRH sports medicine team works together to ensure the patient has a successful outcome. Physicians serve not only as a doctor, but also as a coach and advisor. If all nonoperative methods are exhausted, surgery may be necessary to get athletes back to their sport of choice. MRH provides surgeries of the hand/wrist, elbow, shoulder, hip, knee, total joint replacement, foot/ankle and spine.

Sports with the highest risk of spinal injuries include football, diving, skiing, snowboarding, wrestling, ice hockey, rugby and cheerleading. Access to immediate, comprehensive spine care is essential. SOSI providers offer non-operative and surgical spine care in Moffat County with the goal to help patients return to their previous functional status and to improve their quality of life.

This is the best thing I ever did. Within two months, I was back to my normal routine and pain-free.

Phil S., Orthopedic Patient, Had a Left Hip Replacement
“When I could no longer walk on my foot and it was very painful, I came to talk to Dr. Miranda. Now I feel completely corrected and I can walk on my foot again.”
Peggy S., Orthopedic Patient

It was very helpful to have the overnight support of a caring staff after my surgery. I am grateful to have had friendly and helpful people take care of me right here in Craig.
