Meet Rodney!

Have you ever found yourself admiring the great condition of the floors here at MRH? That’s the hard work of Rodney Hatfield, our Floor Technician and Unsung Hero! Rodney takes great pride in his work, and it shows.

“What I love most about being a Floor Tech at MRH is actually having a job that makes me proud of what I do. It’s something so small and silly, clean the floors, but I want to be the best at it. I want to have the most beautiful looking hospital.”

Rodney is humble, keeping the floors of MRH clean and sanitized is an incredibly important job. From the moment a patient or visitor walks through our doors, their first impression of cleanliness is often based on how the floors appear. Even more important than appearances, Rodney plays a valuable role in reducing the spread of germs, diseases and infections.

Rodney says his favorite part of his job is the people he works with. “Every department I visit in a day has the most interesting and nicest people in it. I am in these areas for like 15 minutes, but I get to watch these people work hard, care for their patients and better themselves every day.”

Outside of work Rodney enjoys getting together with friends to put on BBQ competitions and build bikes and trucks. They also enjoy making videos and streaming video games with friends who live long-distance.

Rodney gives a special shoutout to his wife Lisa for being the best thing that has ever happened to him. “She pushes me to be better and achieve more than I ever thought I could. I want to be the man she deserves. We also now have our son Patrick, he’s the greatest. I love watching Lisa be a mom.”
