Our providers focus on offering quality, compassionate and non-judgmental services in a manner that fosters self-respect, dignity and independence in persons experiencing crime, violence and trauma.

We offer crisis healthcare exams that address the scientific investigation of trauma and/or death-related abuse, violence, criminal activity, liability and accidents. These healthcare exams can also include a Sex Assault Nurse Examination (SANE).

Definitions

SANE: A Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner is a Registered Nurse who has been trained in the comprehensive care of the sexually assaulted patient, has the ability to conduct a medical/forensic examination with or without evidence collection, and is capable of testifying as an expert witness in a legal proceeding. The SANE may care for the adult/adolescent population, the pediatric population, or both.

FNE: A Forensic Nurse Examiner is a nurse who is specially trained in sexual assault forensic care.  FNEs are nurses who are highly trained to provide medical care and collect evidence after a crime has occurred.  This includes sexual assault, domestic violence, human trafficking and other forms of intentional violence. They can also give expert testimony in court.
