Joshua P., Orthopedic Patient

Everyone was super helpful, showed genuine concern and care, even though they were busy, I am very satisfied with the care I received. Dr. Thompson was especially helpful and supportive of my needs, but all of the staff were amazing.

If any of these sound familiar, our team can help assess your condition and guide you toward the right treatment.

Your first appointment will focus on understanding your injury or condition. Our team may order diagnostic tests, such as x-rays, to help guide your care. We’ll also talk with you about your goals and provide recommendations to help you take the next steps.

Not always. Many orthopedic conditions can be treated with non-surgical options such as physical therapy, medication, or lifestyle changes. If surgery is recommended, the good news is that you don’t have to travel far—procedures can be performed right here in Craig at MRH.

Our team will work closely with you to understand your needs, review your options, and recommend the treatment that’s right for you. Whether your path includes therapy, surgery, or a combination of both, you’ll receive care that’s close to home and supported by your local community.

Your first appointment will likely be with our Certified Physician Assistant or a member of our care team. If surgery is recommended, you’ll then meet with one of the expert physicians from SOSI, who travel to Craig to provide care for MRH patients.

Your treatment plan will depend on your specific injury. During your initial assessment, we’ll learn more and determine the best next steps. Physical Therapy (PT) may be recommended, either on its own or as part of pre- and post-surgical care. Our PT department is conveniently located on the same campus as the Medical Office Building where Orthopedic patients are seen in Craig.

If you are ready to address the pain and discomfort, please call 970-826-2450 to get an Orthopedic appointment in Craig.  Patients are seen on the first floor of our Medical Office Building.

Coverage can vary depending on your plan. It’s best to confirm directly with your insurance provider. Our care team is here to help answer questions and work with your insurance company to clarify what is covered.

Recovery looks different for everyone. Factors such as your overall health, type of surgery, and commitment to physical therapy can affect your healing timeline. What matters most is staying engaged in the process—our team will provide guidance, follow-up appointments, and therapy options to help you stay on track.

At MRH, you don’t have to travel far for expert care. Our team combines the skill of SOSI physicians, the support of our Operating Room staff, and the resources of our local medical community to provide comprehensive orthopedic services in Craig.

We’re proud to share stories of patients who have regained mobility and improved their quality of life. [Read a recent patient story here.]

Your care team will share more tips and recommendations to prepare your home for post-surgery.  But here are a few:

  • Remove throw rugs and other tripping hazards
  • If you have stairs, think about how you might live on one floor during recovery
  • Plan meals in advance and fill prescriptions ahead of time
  • If you don’t have a spouse or caregiver close by, think about friends and others who would be willing to help with mowing the lawn, shoveling a sidewalk, or taking you to appointments

Your care team will also provide personalized guidance before your surgery.

Caregiving can be just as demanding as surgery and recovery itself. Planning ahead can help ease the stress for everyone involved. Show your appreciation often and do what you can to lighten the load for your caregiver.
