Unsung Hero: Cassandra Rusche
Meet Cassandra!
As a Pediatric Physician Assistant, Cassandra Rusche (pronounced roo-SHAY) loves working with children and parents. “I enjoy watching kids grow up and being a part of their development,” she said. “I also love making kids smile and easing parents’ fears and worries. Pediatrics is my favorite niche.”
Cassandra works side-by-side with MRH pediatrician Dr. Linda Couillard to provide primary care to infants, children, teens, and young adults in our community. On some days you might find her caring for patients of any age in MRH’s Rapid Care clinic. She’s been a PA since 2012 and part of the MRH team for one year.
In nominating Cassandra as an MRH Unsung Hero, a co-worker said that she “is very involved and willing to pitch in anywhere.”
A Wisconsin native, Cassandra joined the U.S. military right out of school and still serves in the Army Reserves one weekend a month as a Battalion Physician Assistant. She and her husband, Travis, and their two dogs enjoy the Craig lifestyle. “I love anything outdoors—snowboarding, hiking, paddleboarding. I also love Spartan races and gravitate toward being a bit of an adrenaline junkie,” she said.
“I’ve always loved this area,” Cassandra said about northwest Colorado. “We’re so happy to be here.”
We’re thrilled you’re part of the MRH team, Cassandra! Thank you for your dedication and commitment to helping keep the young people and families in the Craig area healthy and happy.
