Unsung Hero: Brooklyn Hickey

Meet Brooklyn!

If you have a smooth check-in experience at the Memorial Regional Health Medical Clinic, you have Brooklyn Hickey and her team to thank. Behind the scenes, she’s assisting in many other ways, too, to optimize patient care. “I also ensure that patient charts are set up correctly,” she said. “I send monthly clinic reports to my manager, and I provide support to my team.”

Brooklyn assists in checking in 50 to 130 patients each day. Frictionless check-in is important because it helps patients get to their appointments on time, which in turn supports effective care clinic-wide. “Given the fast-paced nature of the Medical Office Building, I’m always ready to jump in and help wherever needed to streamline the process and improve efficiency,” she said.

“What I love most about my job is the opportunity to meet new people every day and hear their unique stories,” Brooklyn said. “Each interaction brings a fresh perspective, and it’s rewarding to be part of their journey. I also deeply value my incredible team. They are more than just coworkers to me; they’ve become like family, and our strong, supportive bond makes the work environment truly special.”

“Brooklyn approaches every challenge with grace and a can-do attitude,” said the colleague who nominated her as Unsung Hero. “No matter what gets thrown her way, she remains calm, composed, and supportive. She truly embodies the mindset that there is always more to learn and room to grow. Brooklyn also brings a personal touch to patient care—she remembers many patients by name and makes a point to greet them with genuine kindness and warmth. Her leadership and compassion shine through in all she does.”

Brooklyn was born in Steamboat Springs and grew up in Craig. “This has given me a unique perspective and appreciation for both the natural beauty and close-knit community of this area,” she said.

Outside of work, Brooklyn enjoys camping, riding side-by-sides, and most important, spending quality time with her family, which on her mother’s side is largely Colorado-based and on her father’s, Canadian. Brooklyn is proud to have dual citizenship. “My family has always been incredibly close,” she said. “Currently we are rallying together as my grandmother battles cancer, and her strength and the support we share as a family mean the world to us.”

Brooklyn has worked at MRH for two years. “Memorial Regional Health has played a significant role in my personal and professional growth,” she said. “During my time here, I have achieved many goals, both in my career and personal life. I am deeply grateful to my incredible team members, who have not only given me the opportunity to grow alongside them but have also instilled in me the confidence to tackle any challenge. Their unwavering belief in me has been instrumental in my success.”

You understand the importance of your role, and you do everything with precision and care. For your unflagging effort, kindness, and leadership, we thank you.
