WATCH: MRH Physician Assistant Kelsie Bond takes us through what a week in the life of her many duties looks like. She explains what each of her days is dedicated to and how she works with patients in her various roles.
Kelsie Bond doesn’t blink at the opportunity to help a patient in need, which explains why she is such an integral part of the Memorial Regional Health team.
Since first starting at MRH more than three years ago, Kelsie’s role has evolved into many. She is a skilled physician assistant who works with patients in primary care/family medicine, hospice/palliative care, cardiology and cardiac studies. To say she wears many different hats would be an understatement.
For her undergraduate studies, Kelsie attended Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania, then attained her Master of Physician Assistant degree from Wichita State University. She has professional associations with the American Academy of Physician Assistants and Colorado Academy of Physician Assistants and has certifications in basic and advanced cardiac life support, pediatric advanced life support and advanced trauma life support.
Kelsie sat down with us to discuss her career at MRH and her goals when working with patients in Northwest Colorado.
Q: Were you always interested in a career in healthcare?
Kelsie: I knew I always wanted to be in healthcare. I enjoy helping people, building relationships and improving their lifestyle.
Q: What drives you to take on your many different roles at MRH in family medicine, hospice and cardiology?
K: I am passionate about my career and this community. I am constantly trying to further my knowledge and become a more rounded PA. Prior to becoming a PA, I was a CNA in a hospital and saw how important hospice care was for the patient and their family members. I have been fascinated by the functions of the heart and when the opportunity presented itself with cardiac stress tests, I couldn’t say no.
