CRAIG, COLO. (January 17, 2017) The Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees, along with administration, physicians and providers, and staff concluded their strategic planning process for 2017. At the final workshop, the Board of Trustees announced they would rebrand the organization to Memorial Regional Health. “Through our planning processes, we realized that our current name and vision statement were not inclusive of who we are today or what we hope to be. We are more than just a hospital. We aspire to serve this community along with patients in other markets outside of Craig, the more remote parts Moffat County and other areas. We are one organization and we want to be a leader for healthcare in our region,” said Andy Daniels, CEO.
Beginning in 2017, the organization will begin the process to become Memorial Regional Health. The organization’s Vision Statement will be modified to read: “Memorial Regional Health will be the first CHOICE for patients, physicians and employees.”
In 1949, when the hospital was under construction, it was named the Memorial Hospital as a way of honoring the veterans in the community. Since that time, the hospital has grown in scope and size, and services now include a new, state-of-the-art hospital, a multi-specialty medical clinic, a satellite clinic in Steamboat Springs, and a rehabilitation center.
While considering a new name and brand, all stakeholders agreed it was important to keeping “Memorial” in the name. The hospital and all of the associated services and entities are community assets. The hospital will continue to be known as The Memorial Hospital at Craig, an entity within Memorial Regional Health.
